Clarification on text entries, please
Am I correct in deducing that all of the staff text entries in the palettes are preset? And they can’t be mixed, such as two fonts in a single palette? And, if I want a particular text entry to be a specific font or size, I need to use one of the user-defined text properties to set it up for future use?
As an example, I want an upper case X in Arial 10 fixed. For a single use, I can use a generic text entry Cmd+T, insert and edit that entry. But if I want it to stay available for other documents, I have to set it up in its own category?

You should be able to add it to the palette as a custom text item. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/palettes#add-score-elements. However, I must admit I've never been able to make this work :-(

I created a few text entries in Times New Roman, and put them in one of the existing palettes. They worked fine on that score, but when I opened another one, the font had reverted to Edwin. I’ve been pretty busy in my shop, and haven’t played with it for a few days. It may have to wait for the weekend for more experimentation.
