Can you post the score that is affected? Can you explain what "pops up" means?

From their phrasing, I'm guessing they meant the palettes?
masonbruce314: if you mean the tabs indicated with the red arrows in the screenshot below ...
... then click on the View menu, then put a check mark next to Palettes, Instruments, and/or Properties, as needed.
If you mean something else, include a screenshot showing where the info is missing or a more complete description.
