Fermata Default Length

• Jun 19, 2023 - 19:50

I'm still pretty new to Mu4, but I'm aware that I can go into Properties --> Playback to change the length of an individual Fermata, however I was wondering if there was a way to change the default time stretch for the entire program. Since I don't want the fermatas to play at all in most cases for what I'm working on.

If you go to where the Palettes tab is, there should also be a Properties tab nearby. If you have your fermata selected, it should show a dropdown menu where you can adjust the time stretch. Go to General -> Playback and you should see the option to change the time stretch from there.

If you don't want the fermatas to play, you have two choices. You can set the Time Stretch to 100% (that is, just the normal time of the note), or you can uncheck the Play checkbox.

You can do either of these by pressing Ctrl+A to select all. Then right-click a fermata, Select / Similar in this range. This should select all fermatas. Then go to the Properties tab and either change the Time Stretch or uncheck the Play checkbox. If you change your mind later, you can put them BACK to playing again by repeating the same procedure.
