The new MuseScore release 0.9.3 is out and ready for download!

MuseScore 0.9.3 implements a new compressed file format (*.mscz), adds a lot of other new features, fixes some bugs and tries to speedup/optimize layout. The script plugin interface has now bindings to the whole qt library. New score elements are glissando and tremolo symbols between notes. Tuplet types are extended and can now contain notes and rests of different len. A detailed changelog can be found here.

This release introduces a new harmony element used for chord names which allows for proper import/export to MusicXml. A new import filter reads some "Band In A Box" files with proper display of chord names. Scores can be transposed and a new function allows the creation of excerpts of selectable instruments. The new online documentation, many other small enhancements and a lot of bugfixes increase usability.

Another windows32 testrelease is waiting for you at mscore-r675.exe for testing.

A new windows32 test release mscore-r646.exe is available.

Unfortunately version 0.9.0 has a bug in the build system. A build does only work on a SVN checkout. Version 0.9.1 fixes this.

There are two new palettes, "Notes" and "Beam Properties". This palettes replace the "Note Entry Pad" which is removed in this release. Palettes operate via drag&drop but by first selecting an object and then double click on a palette entry they work like the old Pad.
Creation of new chords is now guided by a "New Score Wizard".
New implemented score elements are acciaccatura and appoggiatura grace notes. There is also a new line object which combines a text with a line. Texts can now be circled.
Import and Export of compressed MusicXml files (*.mxl) is now supported.

MuseScore 0.8 better visualizes drag&drop operations, allows for small notes and rests and whole staves. Other enhancements are extended repeats and a more complete MusicXml import/export. New elements are horizontal and vertical frames to structure the score. The windows version now supports the integrated sequencer und software synthesizer.

MuseScore 0.7 arrived: For the first time there is a Windows version but currently without sequencer and synthesizer. The new Version has many new functions like insert and delete measures, a better layout, new score elements like changable note heads, rehearsal marks, tremolo, measure repeats etc..
The sequencer now can play repeats. As always there are also bugfixes and new bugs.

The webpages are now also available in german.

Some progress has been made for drum notation.
